A tray for the cochlear implant gear

I designed an organization tray for my cousin to keep her son's cochlear implant gear together. She was using a wooden box for multiple things and needed a way to keep the important bits together, available, and readily charged.

I modeled and printed a tray to fit inside the box, with places for the charger, Zephyr drying station, and the smaller bits that go with them.

Keeping everything in a predictable place should make it easier for him to charge his gear and keep track of the smaller pieces himself. Being able to take care of your own things matters, especially when you're a kid. I wanted the tray to help with that part of his day.

The tray fits into the top of a small wooden drawer unit. The Zephyr drying station sits in the large recess on the left. On the right, there's space for the charger and accessories, with a long, shallow compartment across the front.

With the equipment removed, you can see the layout a little better. Each area has its own shape, and the tray uses the space above the drawers to keep the equipment together.

Now that everything is laid out, I may add more recessed storage around the charging area. There's some unused space there that could be put to better use.
